The Centre of Information Systems (CIS) of the State Economic and Technological University of Transport is assigned to perform all information, software, technical and educational functions with the use of remote WEB-technology of studying and testing the students' knowledge; to perform research (participation in development of software and standard-technical documentation for the industry needs), advertising and design functions of the University. The CIS management is performed by the Head of the Centre - Koval'ov Volodymyr Volodymyrovych.

 

The tasks and objectives of the CIS are:

- creation of technological data-handling procedures of management information;

- delivery, installation, maintenance and repair of computers;

- connection the University departments to the global electronic networks;

- creation, development and support of distance learning systems;

- ensuring operation of SETUT computer classrooms;

- centralized purchasing and introduction of new licensed hardware and software tools in information science;

- participating in improvement of the SETUT organizational structure and management system with the use of modern information technologies;
- providing information security in the sphere of information systems and telecommunication; - control over the use of computer hardware and licensed software support in the SETUT departments and services;

CIS can perform jobs that meet its functional areas, namely:
- creation of automated systems;

- development and customization of local networks;
- providing connection to the global electronic networks; studying of modern information technologies.
